Kitty Marlene Love was born on September 4, 1947 in San Francisco, CA and died from complications of diabetes and kidney failure on November 23, 2024 in Glendora, CA.
She was a complicated woman. A mother, an artist, a pioneer, a feminist, a sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She survived polio, became one of the first female pony riders, and was one of the first female long-haul truckers. She then became a nurse and tackled some of the gnarliest assignments working in the ER, Psych, and Neonatal ICU for over 36 years. On top of that she was an artist - a gifted animator and costume designer - working for the studios on and off for decades.
Kitty set the bar high for herself and she met it. But she also struggled with mental illness, refusing treatment, and that made relationships with her hard. Yet in her own way, she deeply loved her family. And they loved her.
She embraced her way of life to the fullest and her favorite things to do were riding horses, drawing and animating, playing in the ocean, and studying anything to do with ancient Egypt. She was an unflappable woman, never taking no for an answer. The fight in her was admirable and she did life her own way on her own terms. She knew who she was and knew her worth.
Kitty was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Sherry. She is survived by her four children, Toby, Desiree, Jamie, and Amber, her grandchildren, Tyler, Jamie Jr., Aurora, and Logan, her brother Randy, and nieces Lisa, Shannon, and Julie. May she rest in peace.
