Beverley passed away peacefully at home in the loving embrace of her husband and sons on Thursday, August 28, after a short battle with breast cancer. She was a much beloved wife, mother and grandmother and her life and love continue through them.

Beverley Lloyd Child was born on August 1, 1943, in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of H. Lloyd and Allene Child.  After the family relocated to Southern California, she graduated from John Burroughs High School in Burbank and earned her B.A. and M.A. in Geography from California State University, Los Angeles.  She met and married her longtime husband, Tom, while working at Edwards Air Force Base in 1971. She was incredibly proud of Tom, her sons and grandchildren.

She loved going out early in the morning to shop in her 1998 Ford Escort ZX2, prowling second hand thrift stores looking for hidden treasures, looking at true crime shows and British mysteries, watching Cleveland Guardians baseball with Tom, and listening to the music of Johnny Cash and Michael Jackson. But most of all, she loved her pets. She was never without a dog or a cat or both or a few of each.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Tom, sons Lloyd of Petaluma, CA, and Allen and daughter-in-law Alex of Mar Vista, grandchildren Emilia, Hazel, T. Cal, and Evie, and sister Cindy Mallory of Valley Glen.

A longtime member of Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church, a Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, September 6, at 11 a.m. at the church at 505 N Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. If you can attend an email reply to tgrove@mednet.ucla.edu would be greatly appreciated
