Denis McCarthy passed away on August 18, 2026, in Pomona, California, following a battle with dementia. He was born on February 12, 1948, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Denis built a career as a piano salesman and musician, combining his work with his lifelong love of music. He was especially passionate about playing his beloved Hammond B3 organ and could often be found sharing stories and conversations about the piano business.

Known for his great sense of humor, Denis loved telling jokes and bringing smiles to those around him. His warm personality and love of laughter made him a joy to be with, and he left a lasting impression on family, friends, and everyone who knew him.

Of all his accomplishments, Denis was most proud of being married to his wife, Lisa. Their life together was a source of great happiness and pride.

Denis will be remembered most for his remarkable talent as an organ player. His love of music and the joy he found in sharing it with others will remain a cherished part of his legacy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa McCarthy; his stepson, Christopher Nelson; his sister; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Rita McCarthy; his sister, Jean; and his brother, Dave.

A memorial service will be held on September 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Hollywood Piano, 499 S. Arroyo Parkway, Pasadena, California.

Denis will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. May his memory bring comfort to his family and friends, and may the music he shared continue to echo in their hearts for years to come.
