Edward Charles Farmer Jr, known to everyone as Ed, passed away on August 8, 2026, at the age of 72. Ed was a hard working man with an incredible work ethic, rarely missing time away from his job in order to be a great provider for his family. He was a strong yet stubborn man that wasn't known to smile much, but when he did, it was a sight to see.

Born on June 22, 1954, he was a veteran of the United States Army, and that chapter of his life reflected the discipline, courage, and commitment that shaped the man his family and friends loved. He was the kind of man who believed in doing what needed to be done, whether the job was difficult, inconvenient, or required a little stubbornness. In Ed’s case, stubbornness was not a flaw. It was a feature.

Ed was deeply loved by his wife, Venecia Farmer, who shared in the many seasons of his life and stood beside him through all of its joys and challenges. Together 53 years, they built a family rooted in love, laughter, and the kind of memories that stay with people forever. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Sonja Canida, Candice Davis, and Andrea Farmer. His love for them was steady and unmistakable, even when he expressed it in the classic style of a man who believed actions were worth more than speeches.

He was also a cherished grandfather to Taylor Luna, Robert Aranza, Matthew Aranza, Ivan Davis, and Eden Elledge, and he was blessed to know the joy of being a great-grandfather to Taylor Luna Jr. Ed loved his family with a big heart and a practical kind of devotion. His grandchildren and great-grandson will remember his strength, his subtle humor, and the way their grandpa was always ready to tease them and give them a hard time to get a rise and a smile out of them.

He will be missed by many including his sisters in law Cynthia Bailey, and Charlene Wissler, brother in law Lynn Bailey and his wife Debbie and their son Paul, sons in law Todd Davis and Zann Canida, sister Linda Watson, daughter in laws Isabelle Aranza and Coral Silva, and many nieces and nephews. Coral Silva was one of the few who could always manage to get a smile or laugh from him.

Ed enjoyed watching football, and he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, which meant that he spent many Sundays with a beer cheering on his favorite team. He yelled, he groaned, and he probably muttered a few things at the television that cannot be printed in a proper obituary. Still, he remained loyal, which says a great deal about his character.

Edward Charles Farmer will be missed deeply and remembered fondly. His life was a gift to those around him, and his memory will continue to bring comfort, laughter, and gratitude to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
