James C. Roberson, born in Durham, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2025, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 52. Though his passing leaves a deep sadness in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will live on through the kindness he showed and the love he gave.

James was a kind and gentle soul, known for his compassion and his quiet acts of care. He had a soft spot for animals, especially stray cats, whom he would feed and look after without hesitation. His love for his family was unwavering, and he held a particularly special place in his heart for his mother, Myrtle Louise Jones.

A lifelong basketball fan, James found joy in the game. He cherished time spent with loved ones and took pride in the simple things that made life meaningful. One of his proudest accomplishments was his decision to get clean and start a new chapter in his life.

James is survived by his loving mother Myrtle Louise Jones and stepfather Randall S. Jones; his brother Alvin M. Hayes Jr.; and his sisters Kristy Wood and Margaret Rawlins. 

He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald W. Roberson Jr. and his sisters April L. Hayes and Janet Evens.

His legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and quiet devotion.
