Nancy Marie Lattin, 75, passed away on October 26, 2026.

Born in Medina, New York, Nancy spent a large part of her life in Alaska, where her love for the outdoors and the natural world was a constant thread in her life. About 12 years ago, she moved to Washington to be closer to her daughter, Sarah.

Nancy was creative, artistic, and wonderfully quirky. She enjoyed being weird, embracing the things that made her unique rather than trying to fit into anyone else's idea of who she should be. She found joy in the simple and extraordinary things around her: fishing, camping, cooking, making art and crafts, and spending time in nature. She had a special fondness for ravens, a fitting companion to her independent and unconventional spirit.

Nancy's life was not an easy one. She endured a difficult childhood and painful relationships, yet she continued to find ways to move forward. She worked hard, overcame alcoholism, and built a life that increasingly reflected the person she wanted to be. Through her own struggles, she also sought to protect her daughter through circumstances that were often difficult.

Her story was one of hardship, resilience, and change. She was more than the things she endured. She was an artist, a lover of the outdoors, a woman who embraced her own kind of weirdness, and a person who found her way toward a kinder, more authentic version of herself.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Sarah; her great-aunt Jean; her cousin Donna; and her half-brother Randy. They will carry forward their own memories of Nancy and the many complicated, meaningful threads that made her who she was.
