Scotty, Scooter, Bill, Scotty Bill. He went by many names. Scott William Crawford was born on April 11, 1980, alongside his twin brother Brian. Scott was born on the small side and stayed in the NICU for several weeks, and he and Brian were much happier with the world when they were reunited. They have been close throughout their lives.
In school, Scott played the clarinet, and he learned to play the piano by ear. He inherited this from our dad.
Scott played a role in caring for our mother during her illness, offering his time and compassion when it was needed most. That chapter of his life reflected how much he cared about family.
As he got older, Scott developed a love for cooking and gardening while he lived with our mom—passions that became a meaningful part of his life and a way he expressed care for others. His meals were more than food; they were gestures of comfort and connection. And, he loved to list the veggies he had growing in the backyard.
Scott’s life was marked by moments of kindness, dedication, and complexity. He faced challenges, and his journey was not without hardship, but he leaves behind memories that speak to his humanity and the love he gave in his way.
He is survived by his twin brother Brian and niece, Scarlet, sisters Caran (Aaron) and Tiffany (Clark), and by family members and friends who remember him with love and reflection, including Jasmine, whom he loved as a daughter. Preceded in death by his parents, Barry Crawford and Betty Crawford, his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Faith Crawford, and his maternal grandparents, Hugo and Elizabeth Holst.
May Scott find peace, and may those who knew him hold onto the moments that mattered most.
