It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alan J. Russ, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

Alan was a creative soul with a true artistic eye. He had a passion for photography, and was especially gifted at capturing scenic shots that reflected the way he saw the world. That same artistic vision shaped his career, where he developed products featuring beloved licensed characters from Disney and Betty Boop, among others, while also creating a number of his own independent product lines along the way.

Alan’s career took him around the world, including several years living and working overseas in Hong Kong, and later in Cambria, California.

Through the years, Alan’s long and fulfilling career gave him the opportunity to express his artistic vision and creativity again and again, always bringing new ideas and fresh perspectives to everything he touched. His vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met — he was the kind of person people remembered, and greeted by name wherever he went.

Alan is survived by his wife, Joyce; his daughter, Wendy; and his granddaughter, Mackenzie. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
