Beatrice "Bea" White, a devoted spouse and a longstanding member of the Tacoma, Washington community, passed away on May 29, 2026, at the age of 75. Beatrice was born on December 7, 1950, in Manchester, New Hampshire, and was a proud graduate of Memorial High School in Manchester.
Bea had a quieter demeanor than others in her family. As age would have it, her cunning meekness turned into an unfiltered yet authentic spirit, bringing an honest reality and endless laughter to many.
She was an avid sports fan, spending many afternoons watching the Patriots, Seahawks, Red Sox, and Mariners. If it wasn’t a game day or a day spent going to yard sales, one was sure to find her at the Tacoma Antique Mall, her second home. Her genuine nature and her love for her Tacoma Antique Mall family and friends will be deeply missed.
Her final months were spent sharing a room with her spouse, Carol. Carol passed away on May 10, 2026, with Beatrice by her side. There is much to be said about their strong bond, and it is easily believed that Carol's spirit remained by Bea's side, ensuring that she was not alone and they would be guided home together.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents, James T. White and Beatrice Blanche White, and her sister, Betty Metts. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Blanchette, Susan Rodrigues, Donna Magoon, and Pauline Guilbeault; her brothers, Bruce White, Jay White Cote, and James White; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bea’s life was filled with a warm and loyal heart for rescuing dogs. She and Carol rescued many dogs over the years, the last of whom was their beloved Luna. To honor Bea’s memory, donations may be made to Leash On The Muttropolitan Pups at 5205 South Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA 98409, whose staff provided several years of loving care to their Luna.
