Obituary

Benjamin George Madrid Sr. passed away on July 30, 2026, in San Bernardino, California, after suffering a major stroke. He was born on June 18, 1966, in San Bernardino, California.

Benjamin worked as a logistics representative and enjoyed a life filled with adventure and curiosity. He loved collecting rocks, listening to music, stargazing, fishing, and hiking. He was always ready for a new adventure and enjoyed sharing those moments with the people he loved.

Benjamin was known for his loud sense of humor, quick wit, and remarkable knowledge. He had a way of making a song out of almost any situation, bringing laughter to those around him. His adventurous spirit and love for life made him someone people enjoyed being around.

Among his proudest accomplishments were winning All-State wrestling honors in high school, excelling as a baseball player, marrying the love of his life, Lesley, in 2005, and building a family he deeply loved. He was a devoted husband, a proud father to his two sons and two daughters, and a loving grandfather to four grandchildren. He also treasured traveling with his wife, especially their trips to Cabo San Lucas.

Benjamin would want to be remembered as an adventurous, witty, intelligent, passionate, and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Lesley Rodriguez; his brother, Richard Madrid; his sons, Benny Madrid Jr. and Christopher Madrid; and his daughters, Chelcie Madrid and Adrianna Madrid.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Zamarron; his father, Robert Madrid; his younger brothers, Jessie Madrid and Robert Madrid Jr.; and his stepbrothers, and Albert Madrid.

The family finds comfort in the words of Psalm 23:4:

"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."

Benjamin's love for his family, his adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought to others will always be remembered.
