Share announcement

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Carol Lorraine Berg on July 15, 2026.

Carol was a bright, adventurous, intelligent, and loving spirit who navigated life with bravery, determination, resilience, creativity, and passion. She loved art, travel, animals, education, humor, and fortune telling. She engaged people with her wisdom and wit and made people feel cared for and seen. She was a compassionate and giving soul who will be very missed and celebrated by her loving family and chosen family who hold her dear.

She is survived by her children Joanna and Paul, and her precious grandson Oliver who she loved “higher than the highest mountain and deeper than the deepest sea”.

Carol’s family will be having a celebration of life for her this Spring. Details of her service will be announced.

“Over hill, over dale,

Thorough bush, thorough brier,

Over park, over pale,

Thorough flood, thorough fire,

I do wander everywhere,

Swifter than the moon's sphere;

And I serve the fairy queen,

To dew her orbs upon the green.

The cowslips tall her pensioners be:

In their gold coats spots you see;

Those be rubies, fairy favours,

In those freckles live their savours:

I must go seek some dewdrops here

And hang a pearl in every cowslip's ear.

Farewell, thou lob of spirits; I'll be gone:

Our queen and all her elves come here anon.”

William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream (2.1.2–17)
