Caroline Ruth Tharp
Obituary

Caroline Tharp passed away on June 16, 2026, in Lucerne Valley, California, at the age of 87.

Born on February 20, 1939, in Pomona, California, Caroline was known for her chatty personality and social nature. She enjoyed spending time with others and never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation. She loved bowling and following NASCAR, and these interests brought her many enjoyable moments throughout her life.

Caroline worked as a dispatcher for Fire and Ambulance services. She took pride in her work and, above all, in her children, who were her greatest accomplishment.

She would like to be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family meant everything to her.

Caroline is survived by her children, Robert Culpepper, Laura Lagasse (Alby), Deborah Crowley, Christine Rockwood (Robert), and Charles Tucker; Stepchildren Wanda, Peggy, Lee and Ricky, her sisters, Joyce Hale and Paula Reed; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Tharp; her parents, Charles and Mariellen Carter; her brother, Jimmy Carter; her daughter, Mary Walker; her great-grandson, Tanner Dohrman; her granddaughter, Sarah Chance; her great-granddaughter, Faith; and her great-great-granddaughter, Sophia.

A memorial service will be held on July 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM at 1055 W. La Deney Dr., Ontario, California 91762.

Caroline will be remembered with love by her family and all who knew her.
