Casey John Fagan passed away tragically and unexpectedly at the age of 54. After being missing for nearly two months, his remains were found on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2025 in the mountains above Palm Desert. He is believed to have suffered a fatal fall on October 8, 2025.
Casey was born May 31, 1971 in Santa Barbara, California, the son of Michael Arthur Fagan and Ingrid Emma Fagan. He was the oldest of three siblings. After spending some time living in Santa Barbara, Humboldt and San Joaquin counties, Casey's parents eventually moved their family to Los Osos, California on the Central Coast in 1982 when Casey was 10 years old. Casey spent the majority of his life around this area, enjoying everything the Central Coast had to offer. He loved the outdoors and spent his free time skateboarding, mountain biking, surfing and skimboarding. He also developed a real passion for rock and gemstone hunting, finding precious specimens from his trips to various mines all over California and beyond. He loved fixing and working on cars any chance he could get. He also had a never-ending love for punk rock music that began when he was a teenager.
In 2000, Casey married Cameron Jung and they welcomed two beautiful daughters together, Cora and Cassia. His daughters became the meaning to his whole life and he loved them more than anything. During their 19 years of marriage, Casey and Cameron were lucky enough to live in many different locations, had numerous adventures and explored the world. Although his marriage ultimately came to an end, his love and devotion for his daughters certainly did not.
Casey had an inquisitive and amazingly brilliant mind. He was an expert in computer technology and found his career in AutoCad Design, becoming a self-taught Software Engineer. He was highly sought after and had careers with notable companies such as Lockheed Martin and Google. One of his contracts even took his family overseas and they spent a year living in Alice Springs, Australia. During his marriage, his wife's career later took them overseas again where they lived for a time in American Samoa.
Casey was in a relationship with his girlfriend, Meeshell Block, for the past 5 years. They lived for a couple of years in Los Angeles before moving to Aguanga, California in 2024. This is where they discovered the stunning beauty of the desert landscape surrounding them and fell in love with this region. Casey would often send his family pictures of the breathtaking sunsets and star-filled nights that he was fortunate to witness. He recently bought property in the area, and along with Meeshell, had planned to build a home there.
Casey had an incredible sense of humor and could always bring a smile to your face, laughing along at you or with you. His enthusiastic personality was contagious to everyone he met and strangers would become fast friends. Consequently, Casey had a very large group of friends who meant a lot to him, many of whom were lifelong from the Central Coast. He was a wonderful storyteller and could keep you captivated for hours with tales from his adventurous life.
He leaves behind his two daughters, Corallina Jung Fagan and Cassia Jung Fagan of San Luis Obispo, California; his mother Ingrid Fagan of Los Osos, California; his brother Jacob Fagan of Windermere, Florida; his sister Jennifer Fagan of Los Osos, California; mother of his daughters and former spouse, Cameron Jung; his sister in law Jamie Fagan (wife of Jacob) and their two daughters, Leah and Morgan; his girlfriend Meeshell Block; his aunt Thera Taylor and his cousin Ian Taylor. He was preceded in death by his father Michael Fagan, maternal grandparents Juan and Herta Stertman and paternal grandparents William Fagan and Alice St. Laurent.
As one of his friends so eloquently put it, Casey was a “skateboarder computer genius punk rocker” which fits him quite nicely.
Casey will be sorely missed, fondly remembered and forever loved.
