In honor of Claudia each member of her family has written a passage describing the amazing impact she had on each of them:
Claudia Kaye Taylor was a good person who was liked by all. She was my wife of 53 years, a mother to two kids, Ricky Taylor Jr. and LaWanna Taylor. She was loved by her family very much. She was there for us when we needed her. Her presence was all that was needed. I was blessed to have her in my life. We were married when I was 18 and she 19. Claudia helped me grow in ways that I could not have imagined. She was worried about being a burden, but she was a part of my life in ways that I still do not understand. Her smile and dimples were heart warming and lifted my soul. Her passing is the greatest loss in my life. I will miss her immensely.
~Rick Taylor – Husband
My mother, Claudia Taylor, probably never realized all of the values that she taught me. I wish now that I was able to tell her these things. She taught me tolerance, compassion, understanding and fearlessness. She taught me to always let your compassion overcome your momentary lack of tolerance because you never know what someone is going through at that point in their life. She taught me to try to understand what someone may be going through even though you may never completely understand. In those moments just show compassion and empathy. She taught me fearlessness. Move forward into the things that you are afraid of and do your best to overcome and conquer them. Most of all she taught me that it is alright to fail as long as you learn from your failures. You may not always be compassionate, tolerant, understanding or fearless. These lessons have shaped my life and I only wish that I had been more forthcoming in expressing that to her. Nonetheless I know that she is looking at me from somewhere and offering empathy, compassion and understanding. I will always be grateful for the lessons and love that my mother provided and I will forever miss her.
~Ricky Taylor, Jr. - Son
Claudia Kaye Taylor was an amazing mom. She loved her family unconditionally and completely. Without her I would not be the woman I am today. She taught me compassion and empathy, understanding and patience. She cuddled me and held me as a kid and smoothly adapted to be my friend when I became an adult. She made me laugh harder than I ever laughed in my life. I was her Shamber Butts and she was my little mom. I will miss her until the end of time.
