Corey Douglas Forland was born in Corona, California on September 5th, 1989 and passed away on September 14th, 2026 in Phelan, California.

Corey was one of those rare people that would give his shirt off of his back and if that was his last shirt, he would probably give that one too. He was very kind hearted and genuinely had a desire to help people even when he didn’t have much to give himself. He loved his animals. He loved to make people laugh, and he had a way of caring for others by the little things that he did for them. Corey  struggled often to see his own worth but to those who loved and knew him saw him  as being kind, generous, humorous and the love he gave people around him. Corey had his fair share of difficult seasons. He carried battles not always visible to those around him and his struggle to find his place in this world. Those struggles never erased the kindness in him. In many ways he poured himself out into helping others because he understood what it felt like for the need for someone to care. Behind the struggles was a man who wanted to be loved and to matter and wanted people around him to smile. Corey had a good heart even when life was heavy.

We want to remember Corey not only for his difficult parts of his story but for his laughter, generosity, love and compassion he gave to the people he loved.

Corey leaves behind his mother, Shanda Wallace; stepfather, Billy Wallace; his siblings, Kayla, Jessie-Anne, Christopher, Karly, and Koren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johan Forland, and his grandparents, Kurt and Sharon Palmer, and Keith and Christine James.

Rest in peace, son, until we see each other again. ❤️
