David Dennis Notzon was born on February 3, 1935, in Laredo, TX. He passed away on March 2, 2026, in his home with hospice care provided.

David graduated from Martin High School in Laredo, Texas, in 1952. He moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, after graduating and went to work at United Gas, where he worked as a mail clerk. He was transferred to Houston, Texas, in 1968 by United Gas/Pennzoil. When he retired from Pennzoil in 1990, he was the Director of Administrative Services.

In June of 1961, David married the love of his life, Billie. They were married by his uncle, Father Marcel Notzon. In married life, they shared many loves together: running, traveling, and playing card games, especially bridge. They ran over 200 races together and won numerous trophies and medals.

David dearly loved his family, reading, music, weight lifting, yoga, oil painting, collecting and repairing clocks, and designing personalized cards for friends and family members’ birthdays and anniversaries.

David was preceded in death by his son, John Dennis Notzon; his brothers, Frederick Notzon and Edward Notzon; his sister, Louise Portwine; and his parents, Louise Ligarde Notzon and Silvio Aloysius Notzon.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Billie Kirkley Notzon; his son, Thomas Notzon and his partner, Angela Barrath; his daughters, Amy Felber and husband Lance, and Melanie Jones; and his grandchildren, Matthew Notzon, Mely Notzon, Ryan McCarthy, Korbin Trim and her husband Chad, Kaleigh Molina and her husband Eliseo, Stevie Jones, and Wesley Jones.

David was a Catholic, and he taught CCD for many years. His wish was to be cremated, and his cremains will be buried at Pine Groves Cemetery, Minden, Louisiana. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
