David James Sovay was joyously welcomed into this world December 31, 1976, as the first and only son of Jim and Ginger Sovay and brother of his older sisters Darbi and Debee. With his strawberry blond hair, blue eyes, and chubby dimpled cheeks, he was full of energy and always carried a joyful spirit. He had an amazing love for donuts that almost equaled his love for his Mom.
As a young man, David’s career in paving started right out of high school where he earned the handle, “Paver Dave”. Often the life of the party, and always up for a backyard barbeque and campfire, David was kind, always fought for the underdog, appreciated justice and integrity, was a diehard Seahawks fan, and loved a great laugh or prank. He enjoyed more than most the typical all-American pastimes, Fourth of July (he loved fireworks!), Memorial Weekend, Labor Day Weekend and any opportunity to have a bonfire, good eats, a beer, and gathering with those closest to him. These events gave Dave the opportunity to share stories, and boy was he a storyteller! Never at a loss for words, and often at an elevated volume, Dave loved to share stories of his own, or even the stories of others, to garner a smirk, a chuckle, a belly laugh, a puzzled look, some disgust…any reaction at all! His stories would often end with him laughing along with his audience.
David was incredibly consistent with his love for family and those he cared for. He did not always show it outwardly, but it was always there. You could feel it when he gave you one of his big bear hugs. With no children of his own, he loved his nephews and nieces endlessly; with so much pride in being Uncle Dave and cherished photos of them all displayed in his home.
David is survived by his beloved parents, Jim and Ginger Sovay, his Sisters Darbi Krumpos and Debra Sovay, his nephews Kyler Krumpos (Spouse Alyssa), Kaleb Krumpos, Gabriel Sickels, and Wyatt Sickels (Partner Angelina), his niece Colleen Montorosso, his grand-niece Nova Mae Sickels and countless cousins and friends all holding shared memories of his loving kindness and jovial spirit as his legacy. David James – You are missed! You are Loved! And you will Never be Forgotten!
