Deborah "Debbie" Rosemary Cusack went to be with her higher power on August 10th, 2026 after a long battle with Leukemia.

Debbie was born to Ralph Waldo Emerson and Jackie Alicia Collins on January 6, 1955 in Billings Montana. She was the 2nd of 5 girls and 1 half brother. Due to the nature of her father's job the family moved extensively all over Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and finally setting down roots in Auburn Washington.

Debbie graduated from Auburn High School in June of 1973. A year later she married Arnold "Bo" Shutt of Jourdenton, Texas in June of 1974. 4 years later in August of 1978 they welcomed a daughter Theresa into the world in Seattle, Wa. 2 years later in October of 1980 they welcomed a son Troy into the world in Tacoma, Wa. Unfortunately Arnold and Debbie divorced in April of 1986.

In May of 1989 Debbie then married Brian Cusack in Issaquah, Wa. They spent close to 30 years together. Their near 30 years together wasn't by total choice as Debbie didn't want another divorce. She finally had enough of being unhappy due to Brian's lazy and controlling BS and divorced him in June of 2028 in Colorado Springs, Co.

Late in the 1990s Debbie had decided to further her education in the computer sciences. She spent 4 years working on a bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix. She earned her degree in computer programming in May of 2001. She earned her degree so she could work more extensively with the newest computer technology that was being used in the Aerospace industry. Then over 25 years later Debbie went back to school.

In 2020 Debbie took the opportunity the COVID pandemic gave her and started a Masters degree in Cyber Security at Colorado Springs University. Debbie graduated from her program in June of 2022. By obtaining her degree in cyber security it gave Debbie the tools she needed to continue working for the Department of Defense. This education also allowed Debbie to work on some amazing projects she couldn't even talk about but made her career even more exciting.

In July of 2018 Debbie decided to adopt LeAnne M. Wood. LeAnne came into Debbie's life as a much older teen when LeAnne and her daughter Theresa were in High School. LeAnne had unfortunately lost both of her parents by her early 20s. Debbie had always considered LeAnne her other daughter and Leanne's children her grandkids. So Debbie and LeAnne made it legal. This choice brought so much happiness to the family.

Debbie loved road trips. She was always up for an adventure anytime going anywhere, all you had to do was ask if she wanted to go. After her divorce from Brian, Debbie finally had the opportunity to travel extensively around Europe.Her job as a software engineer with the DoD also created many opportunities to go on adventures all over the world.

Debbie had an amazing life full of love, travel, education, and adventures with family and friends. Debbie is survived by her 3 children. Daughter LeAnne M Wood her husband Chad Wood and 3 grandchildren Grandson Jakob Wood his wife Jasmine, Granddaughter Emma Woodstarr and her wife Genevieve, and Grandson Kyle Wood. Daughter Theresa Shutt, her wife Barbie Shutt, granddaughter McKenzie Kanczurzewski-Allen, her husband Demonty Allen and 3 great grandchildren Ava, Demonty Jr, and Aurora. And her son Troy Edward Shutt.

She is also survived by her 4 sisters. Sister Susie Emerson. Sister Cathy Emerson niece Alicia Sacko and her son. Sister Pattie Thomas her husband Trent Thomas their son David and his wife Sara and their 4 boys. Sister Julie " Diane"Wulff, her husband John Wulff and their 2 daughters Crissy and her husband Ryan and the youngest daughter Leanna May. Debbie's half brother Denise passed away in 2005 and is survived by Debbie's niece Cassie Gress and her 2 daughters.

Debbie was also a sergeant Grandmother to Brandee Hannah, Katielee Swanson and Emily Swanson. Debbie is also survived by Cousins Shelly and Darlene of Billings Montana and many other Cousins on both her Mother's side of the family and her Father's side of the family.
