With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donna Scott (Baumgartner), who passed away peacefully at her home in Menifee, California, on August 28, 2026, at the age of 97. She was born on June 18, 1929, in Akron, Indiana. Donna passed away from congestive heart failure and kidney failure.

Donna lived a full and joyful life. She was known for her warm smile, carefree spirit, and the grace with which she faced life's challenges. She rarely showed when she was upset and chose instead to embrace each day with happiness and optimism. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who truly enjoyed life to the fullest.

She dedicated more than 60 years of her life to nursing, a career she deeply loved. Caring for others was not simply her profession, but her calling. Alongside her remarkable nursing career, Donna lovingly raised six children, demonstrating unwavering dedication to both her family and those she served.

Donna found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved walking on the beach, watching the sunset, camping by the ocean, knitting, and creating beautiful afghans for those she loved. She was also active in her church, serving as a Pioneer Girls leader and helping guide and encourage young girls through her faith and example.

Her faith in God was an important part of her life. She believed that all things happen for a reason and carried that belief with her throughout her years. She would want to be remembered as a loving and caring person who enjoyed her nursing career, cherished life, and found purpose in helping others.

Donna is lovingly survived by her daughters, Kristina (Baumgartner) Hubarth and her husband, Daniel Hubarth, and Lynn (Baumgartner) Hubarth and her husband, Joseph Hubarth; her sons, Keith A. Baumgartner and his wife, Brenda Skinner, and Rick L. Baumgartner; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Robert A. Baumgartner and Mark C. Baumgartner; her husbands, Mirl Baumgartner, Larry McCausland, and Rex D. Scott; her brother, Carroll Hammond Jr.; and her parents, Carroll Hammond and Bernice (Craig) Hammond.

Donna was loved by all who knew her. Her kindness, compassion, faith, and lifelong commitment to caring for others leave behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
