Born on August 19, 1949 to Lillian Frierson & Charles Pellum , she was a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and mother who touched countless lives with her radiant smile, generous spirit, harmonious voice and unwavering faith. From a young age, Dorothea had an unbreakable spirit, an inspiring determination, and a compassionate heart that made her a light to everyone around her. She was born in Seattle Washington but grew up in Los Angeles, CA, where she was known for her kindness, laughter, and the power she brought to every room she entered.
Dorothea was a graduate of Fremont High School, and she went on to pursue a fulfilling career in the entertainment field as an inspirational singer.. Her dedication, work ethic, and love for her profession left an indelible mark on those she worked with around the world.
Outside of her career, Dorothea A.K.A “LADEE DRED” was deeply involved in her community and church, where she dedicated much of her time to uplifting others. She volunteered at JUSTICE4MURDEREDCHILDREN, 2ND CALL ORG, CALIFORNIA CEASE FIRE COMMITTEE, OPEN ARMS CHARITY & WE FIGHT BACK ORG and her love for helping people was evident in everything she did. Friends and family often recall her contagious laughter, gentle wisdom, and the countless ways she showed up for others in their times of need.
Above all, Ladee Dred cherished her family. She was a devoted mother to Chasitie Lambert, & Crystal Lambert, who were the light of her life, and she shared an unbreakable bond with all of her family from Seattle, Washington. Her family meant everything to her, and her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion lives on in them.
Dorothea leaves behind a host of family and friends who will forever cherish her memory, 2 Children, 9 Grandkids (Torian, Heaven, Choz’zen, Majah’stii, Tre’zore, Salim, Melvaughn) and her 5 Great Grand Children (Jeiden, Torian Jr, Amir, Harmony, Kaedior) . Her passing leaves a void in our hearts, yet we are comforted knowing her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.
