Douglas Burr Arnold, 73, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, in Dallas, Texas.

Doug was born on April 16, 1953, in Wichita Falls, TX to Conrad and Margaret Arnold. He was the youngest of three boys and grew up alongside his brothers, Robert “Cal” Arnold and Bud Arnold. As the son of a Naval officer, Doug lived in many places throughout his childhood, including Chickasha, Oklahoma; Lake Charles, Louisiana; Sasebo, Japan; San Diego and Chula Vista, California; Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana; Wichita Falls, Texas; Dallas, Texas; and Fort Worth, Texas.

Doug graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1971 and later joined the United States Navy. He served from 1975 to 1982 and was stationed in Virginia Beach, Virginia. During his service, he was assigned to the USS America, where he worked in supply chain management.Following his military service, Doug worked in sales for much of his life, representing a variety of companies.

Above all, he was a proud father. He was the father of two children, daughter Stephanie Lynn, whom he affectionately called “Squeezer,” and son Daniel Lee, whom he lovingly called “Best Buddy.” Doug was a dedicated sports parent for many years and took great pride in watching his children grow into college graduates and educators.

Doug loved spending time outdoors, whether he was working in the yard, grilling, or simply enjoying the sunshine. He also enjoyed watching European soccer and had a deep love of music. His family will remember the many special moments they shared with him.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Margaret Arnold; his brother, Robert “Cal” Arnold; and his niece, Alicia Arnold.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Arnold Maupin and her husband, Michael; his son, Daniel Arnold and his wife, Megan; his grandchildren, Madison Maupin, Skylar Maupin, Cooper Arnold, Mary Claire Arnold, and Peyton Maupin; his brother, Bud Arnold and his wife, Vicki; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other family and friends.

The family is hosting a  Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 24th, 2026 at 6pm at the home of Don Johnston 560 Timber Ridge Drive, Trophy Club, Texas 76262.
