Edward "Ed" Reed passed away on July 8, 2026, in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was born on July 6, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan.

Ed retired from American Airlines after a dedicated career. In his free time, he enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, spending time at the beach, dancing, traveling, and listening to music.

He was known for his kind heart, calm demeanor, and steady personality. No matter the situation, Ed remained composed and was easy to talk to. His understanding nature made him someone that family and friends could always count on.

Among his proudest accomplishments were earning his bachelor's degree and retiring from American Airlines. Although he never had children of his own, he poured his love into his nieces and nephews and made it a priority to be there for their important milestones, including weddings, graduations, and other special moments.

Ed would like to be remembered as a kind and caring man who loved his family and friends deeply.

He is survived by his sister, Gladys; his brother, Ellis; his nephews, Eric, Aaron, Dwayne, and Chris; his nieces, Danielle, Tiara, and Cheryl; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Reed; his mother, Ellness Reed; and his sister, Pamela Ussery.

Ed will be remembered with love by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A virtual Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM EST. Family and friends from near and far are warmly invited to join in honoring Ed's life, sharing memories, and finding comfort in one another's presence.
