Edward Graves, a man of quiet strength and deep devotion, passed away on April 20, 2026, in Edmonds, Washington, from complications of Parkinson’s dementia. He was 83 years old.
Born in Seattle on November 26, 1942, Ed spent his life building a legacy defined by faith and family. While he spent his career in sales, it was his "retirement job" that perhaps brought him the most unexpected joy, driving a school bus for a local middle school and high school. This provided him the opportunity to see some of his grandchildren that attended these schools.
Ed was the first to arrive whenever a hand was needed, whether he was teaching his daughter how to change a tire on a car or repairing something around the house. When he wasn't tinkering or lending a hand, he was happiest in the quiet of nature—fishing, hunting, or simply behind the wheel of a car.
Above all, Ed was a family man. He was a gentle, loyal soul who found profound happiness in the simple things: a competitive game, a shared laugh, and the company of those he loved most. His greatest pride was the life he built with his wife, Marcia, and the deep, unwavering bond he shared with his children and grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Marcia Graves (nee Mahoney); his children, Ronald Graves (Christine), Helen Fonseca (Dhiren), and Steven Graves (Laurie); his sister, Susan Husman; and his six grandchildren, Eli, Isabella, Sophia, Anna, Michael, and Emily. He joins in peace his parents, Sadie and Ronald; his sister, Francie; and his brother, Robert.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his steadfast faith, and a heart that belonged entirely to his family.
A memorial service will be held on May 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Parish, 630 7th Avenue N Edmonds WA 98020 .
