Frances “Fran” Turco passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born December 11, 1936, in Boston, Massachusetts, Fran later moved to Washington as a young child with her parents and her beloved younger sister. From an early age, she carried with her the warmth, resilience, and deep sense of care for others that would define her life.
Fran – affectionately known as “Frannie” to those who loved her – had a true heart of gold. She was endlessly kind, selfless, and full of humor, always putting others before herself and bringing lightness to those around her. Her presence made people feel welcome, cared for, and at ease.
She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. Fran loved playing cards and was an accomplished bridge player, often gathering friends around the table for laughter and connection. She delighted in entertaining, cooking for her family, and spending time socializing with those she loved. She was also an avid Seattle sports fan and especially enjoyed attending University of Washington Husky games and Seattle Mariners games – particularly when they played against her beloved Boston Red Sox, a reflection of her lifelong connection to her roots. In her younger years, she enjoyed staying active through bowling, softball, and golf, always embracing both the fun and camaraderie these brought.
Fran also gave generously of her time and spirit. She was involved with the Mary Bridge Orthopedic Guild and volunteered at local food banks over the years, never hesitating to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her quiet acts of kindness left a lasting impact on many lives.
Above all else, Fran’s greatest love was her family. Nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with her three daughters and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchild. They were the center of her world, and she poured her love into each of them in countless ways.
She is survived by her sister, Maria Marabella; her three daughters, Julie Fleming-Suttich (Greg), Carrie Magnuson, and Lisa Palmer (William); her seven grandchildren, Lauren Kost, Jacqueline Hendrickson, Paige Suttich, Jacob Magnuson, NaTasha Magnuson, Joshua Palmer, and Nathan Palmer; and her great-granddaughter, Hyatt Magnuson.
Frannie will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, her sense of humor, and the deep love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and a family who will carry her spirit forward every day.
