Gary B. Huff passed away peacefully on Sept 20, 2026 at the age of 76.

Known for his dedication, resilience, and genuine nature, Gary spent much of his life serving others through his work and cultivating lasting friendships. Those who knew him will remember his quiet strength, dry sense of humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He also found great joy in cooking and sharing a meal with those closest to him.

For the past 20 years, Gary worked at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) as a Utility Systems Repairer. He took great pride in his work and the service he provided to the community. During his years at JBLM, Gary developed many lasting friendships that meant a great deal to him. His family is especially grateful for the support and friendship shown by Michael Kershaw, John & Karen Applet, who were there for him when he needed it most.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Ernest E. Huff; his mother, Syverine M. Syversen; his brother, Ronald M. Oneal; and his brothers-in-law, Henry S. Dean and Johnnie G. Wilson.

He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Leslie and Greg Velasquez of San Ramon, California; his cherished grandchildren, Gabby and Nico Velasquez of San Ramon, California; his brother, Keith and Sarah Griffin of Camarillo, California; his sister, Georgia D. Dean of Emmett, Idaho; his brother, Norman and Phyllis Oneal of Concord, North Carolina; his sister, Louetta M. Wilson of Boise, Idaho; his brother, Jimmy and Tisha Oneal of Boise, Idaho; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare professionals, caregivers, friends, and loved ones who offered comfort, companionship, and support during Gary's illness.

At Gary's request, no formal funeral services will be held at this time. His family appreciates your thoughts, prayers, and remembrance of his life.

Though he will be deeply missed, Gary's legacy of love, friendship, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
