Geneva Ann Massey Koehler, 77, of Coppell, TX, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Born January 17, 1949, in Rector, Arkansas, to Walter (Buck) and Vernie Lucille (Fry) Massey, Geneva lived in Piggott, AR, with her family until moving to St. Louis to live with her aunt and uncle where she met the love of her life, her best friend, Joseph David Koehler Sr. They were married February 19, 1966, in Jackson, MO. They lived in St. Louis for awhile and then moved to Jackson before eventually moving to Texas.
Together they shared 60 beautiful years of love, laughter and companionship together. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her and remembered for being kindhearted, high spirited and a little sassy. She loved being around family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed her weekly phone calls with family in Arkansas, Georgia and Missouri.
She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Joe Koehler Sr.; a son, Joe Koehler Jr. of Mineral Wells, TX; two daughters, Kimberly (Tom) Farris of Marble Hill, MO, and Georgette (Jason) Kellar of Anna, TX. Brothers, Earnest Massey, Billy (Linda) Massey, Jerry (Michelle) Massey; sisters, Gletta Herin, Linda (Sonny) Seffers, Brenda Lecompt, all of Arkansas, and Betty (Dallas) Hickerson of Georgia; and sister-in-law Linda Mae Massey of Arkansas. Brother-in-laws Ron Koehler and Rick Koehler, and sister-in-law Judy Dale of Missouri, and sister-in-law Linda Koehler of Pennsylvania; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Bobby Joe Massey, Garland Massey, Jerry Allen Massey, Walter Massey, David Massey, and Larry Massey; one sister, Jeri Sue Massey; brothers-in-law Chuck Koehler and his wife Wanda, and Dan Koehler of Pennsylvania, Doug Koehler and Gene Dale; and sister-in-law Norma Koehler of Missouri; son-in-law Bobby Greable; two grandchildren, Cory and Angela Greable; and one great-grandson, Avry Walker.
No service is currently planned. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
