George “Sonny” Marion Boggs Jr. was born on October 15, 1949, in Sturgis, Michigan, and passed away on July 5, 2026, in Monroe, Washington.
Sonny loved his daughter more than anything. He was a great football player for Sturgis High School. He also served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea in 1968.
He is survived by his brother, Grover Boggs; his sisters, Mickey (Boggs) Smith, Brenda (Boggs) Rowe, and Penny (Boggs) Rohl; many nieces and nephews, all of Sturgis, Michigan; his aunt, Donna Rickett; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Boggs Sr.; his mother, Dorothy (Rickett) Boggs; his daughter, Pauline (Boggs) Randol; his sister, Darlene (Boggs) Hargett; his nephews, Glen Smith II and Ronald Rowe III; and his niece, Tami (Hargett) Campbell.
The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.
Sonny will be remembered for his love for his daughter, his time serving in the U.S. Army, and his accomplishments as a football player at Sturgis High School.
