Geraldine Alice Walsh (known and deeply loved as the one and only Aunt Geri) passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, in Yorba Linda, California. She was born on April 4, 1943, in Rochester, New York, to Gabriella Elizabeth and James Francis Walsh.

Geri lived a life defined by generosity, humor, intelligence, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Brilliant and quick-witted, she had a remarkable ability to make people absolutely crack-up. She loved to laugh, party with the family, travel the world, be a bit stubborn, and give back to her community.

Family was at the center of Geri's life. As the last elder in the family, she was everything to the family. She gave herself freely, opening her home and her heart whenever someone needed help. She’s spent at least 50 years cheering on her nieces (and then her nieces’ children) at all their birthdays, band competitions, swim meets, school plays, choir shows, colorguard competitions, school events, and all of life’s many milestones. Although she didn’t always call family members by their correct name (e.g., tifftrish) while cheering them on, it didn’t matter. It was just one of the quirky things about our Ger-bear.

Geri proudly dedicated 32 years of service to the United States Bankruptcy Court, retiring as Head Clerk in 1998. She was deeply respected for her professionalism, integrity, and knowledge of bankruptcy law.

Beyond her career, Geri cultivated lifelong friendships that enriched her life. She treasured the women she met through various women’s clubs and especially looked forward to gathering each quarter with her beloved Bunco group, many of whom had been dear friends for more than five decades.

Geri is survived by her nephews, Pete and Jim; her nieces, Tricia, Tiffany, and Marnie; her treasured grandnieces and grandnephews, Connor, Ryleigh, Dylan, and Brooke; and her cat, Bo. Though she never had children of her own, she embraced her role as aunt with extraordinary love and dedication, leaving an immeasurable impact on generations of her family. Every single family member (and probably friend) has a crazy Aunt Geri story! She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
