Hazel May Young passed away on June 25, 2026, in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. She was born on July 15, 1935, in Eastleigh, Hampshire, England.

Hazel found her greatest joy in raising her two children. Having experienced the challenges of growing up during World War II while her father served with the British Army in Africa for five years, she wanted nothing more than to create a stable and happy home for her own family.

Hazel was known for her wonderful sense of humor. She loved sharing stories about the funny situations she found herself in, often making them even more entertaining with her storytelling. She was kind, generous, loyal, and someone who easily made friends wherever she went.

Her proudest accomplishment was raising her two children and giving them the happy childhood she always hoped they would have. She was grateful for the love they shared throughout her life.

Hazel would like to be remembered as a good wife and a loving mother.

Hazel and John met at a Christmas dance in 1951 and were married on July 21, 1956. Together they emigrated to Canada in 1957 before legally entering the United States in 1959. They moved to California in 1961 and had been residents of Rancho Palos Verdes since 1965.

She is survived by her husband, John; her daughter, Julie; her son, Michael; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer; her son-in-law, Blake; and her grandchildren, Katie, Taylor, Grace, Kennedy, and Jack.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, June and Linda.

Hazel will be remembered with love by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
