James Albert Brown was born on April 2, 1951, in Virginia, and he passed away surrounded by his family on February 4, 2026, in Seattle, Washington, due to Cladophialophora Bantiana.
James proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years before retiring. He later continued his service with the Department of Defense Commissary for another 22 years.
He enjoyed bowling, crabbing, fishing, and going out on his boat. He was passionate about God and served actively at Olympia Baptist Church. While stationed in Korea, he also pursued a modeling career, and he appeared in comedy shows, commercials, magazines, and television shows. On his modeling profile, he listed his name as Clint Eastwood. 😂
James was kind, generous, loving, and always willing to help others. He loved comedy, and his laugh was contagious. His favorite movies included Airplane and Naked Gun which he watched many times. He is missed by his dog Lexi that he loved very much. He loved and adored all of his grandchildren, and he was the grandpa who made it to every concert or game they were in.
He received the Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal during his service in the U.S. Army. He was proud of his children, Melissa, Jesse, and Jonathan. His youngest daughter, Michelle, went to heaven at the age of 15. He was married to his eternal love, Sun Brown, for the past 30 years.
James would want to be remembered as the biggest Seahawks fan, #1 12th Man.
He is survived by his wife, Sun Brown; daughters Melissa and Jessica; son Jon; son-in-law Sid; Noel; and sisters Pam and Paula.
He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter Michelle Brown, his mother Jean Louise Brown, and his father James Fisher Brown.
