James E. Phillips was born on March 4, 1941, in Artesia, California, and passed away on March 27, 2026, in Orange County, California, due to septic shock.

James dedicated much of his life to his work, beginning his career at the age of 18 with Rockwell and later Boeing, where he remained until his retirement at age 59. 

He enjoyed the simple things, including fishing, walking along the Seal Beach pier, and watching documentaries. He also loved listening to Elvis Presley’s music and spending time with his family and friends, who meant a great deal to him.

James was a kind and laid-back man with a good sense of humor.

He would want to be remembered as kind, giving, funny, and as someone who deeply loved his daughter Stacey, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacey; his grandchildren, Jordan, James, and Julia; and his great-grandchildren, Jaxson and GraceLynn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Phillips.

A private memorial will be held.

James was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be missed by all who loved him, and no one could ever take his place.
