Joann Hall, 88, passed away on July 15, 2026, in Woodland Hills, California, following complications from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and pneumonia.
Born on February 1, 1938, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Joann lived a life centered on faith, family, and kindness. She was a devoted stay-at-home mother and a talented artist of watercolor illustrations, oil paintings, and porcelain thimbles. She enjoyed Bible studies, researching her family's ancestry, reading both fiction and non-fiction, playing games with her family, and listening to the classic songs of John Gary as well as Christian music.
Joann was a simple, organized, and gentle woman who lived her Christian faith through her daily acts of kindness, compassion, and decency. Her love of reading, combined with her life experiences, gave her a quiet wisdom that her family often turned to for advice. She was the beacon of love, the pillar of strength, the voice of calm reason, and the cherished matriarch of the Hall family.
Her greatest pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She would want to be remembered as a woman of faith who shared her Christian beliefs not through words alone, but through the way she lived each day.
Joann is survived by her 92-year-old sister, Dolores Neurohr; her four children, Richard F. Hall, Valerie Tiffany, James Hall, and Dennis M. Hall; her twelve grandchildren, Amy Gunther, Benjamin Tiffany, Dennis C. Hall., Michael A. Hall, Theresa Arviso, Jeffrey Hall, Krystopher Hall, Katie Castle, Tyler Hall, Mary Parrish, Michael F. Hall, and Steven Hall; and her twenty-six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Albert Keating; her younger brother, James Keating; and her beloved husband of 66 years, Richard C. Hall (Pap Pap). They married on April 12, 1956 and together built a loving family that continues to carry on their legacy.
A Celebration of Life will be held during the summer of 2027 at the Hall residence in Simi Valley, California. More details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
The loss of Joann Hall is profoundly felt by her family and friends. She will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
