Joyce Ross, born June 22, 1950, in Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love.
Joyce was a strong and independent woman who knew her own mind and lived life on her own terms. She had a deep faith in Jesus Christ that remained an important part of who she was throughout her life. Her Pentecostal faith gave her strength through some of the happiest times of her life as well as some of the hardest.
She was a hard worker and spent many years working in administrative accounting. Joyce took pride in being able to take care of herself and build a life she could be proud of. When retirement finally came, she was more than ready to enjoy it. She loved having the freedom to travel, see new places, and enjoy the life she had worked so hard for.
Joyce had an adventurous side and truly loved to travel. She enjoyed seeing different parts of the world, but she was just as happy heading out on a camping trip and spending time in nature. She appreciated the freedom of going somewhere new, experiencing something different, and making memories along the way.
More than anything, Joyce loved her family. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and family was woven through every chapter of her life. She loved in her own way, and when someone she loved needed her, she was there.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved son, Steven W. Ross, who passed away on November 11, 2024. She spent many years caring for and supporting Steven throughout his illness. Losing him was an enormous heartbreak, and there is comfort now in believing that mother and son are together again.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Murriel L. Carter and Ruby Carter; her brother, Kenny Carter; and her sister, Bonita Carter.
Joyce leaves behind her daughter, Lisa Beachy, and her husband, John Beachy; her grandchildren, Taylor Beachy, Ivan Beachy, and Zander Ross; her sister, Michelle Pittman and her husband, Walter Pittman, of Canton, Ohio, and their family; and her brother, Roger Carter, his wife, and their family. She also leaves behind extended family and loved ones who were part of her life and will continue to remember her in their own special ways.
Those who knew Joyce will remember a woman with strength, determination, faith, and a wonderfully independent spirit. She experienced joy, adventure, love, loss, and more than her share of difficult days, but she kept going and remained true to herself and her faith.
We will miss her presence, her voice, and simply knowing she was here. But we also know how deeply she believed in what came after this life. For Joyce, death was never the end. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with those she loved who went before her, and home with the Lord she trusted throughout her life.
She was loved, she will be missed, and she will always be part of us.
