“Those we love don’t go away;
They walk beside us everyday.
Unseen, unheard, always near,
Still loved , and very missed.”
LaToshia Faye Byrd
Born on November 28 1987 in a small Georgia town ( Dublin ) her adventures started early on, she then made her first travels. She went to live in Florida ( New Port Richey ) where she settled at least for a little while. Oh then the urge to move her again in 1990 she was packed up and hit the road to Arizona (Phoenix) at first eventually living in (Showlow) until 1997 when she was moved again across the states settling in Michigan (Westland ) was the start of her 20 years there where she grew up and considered home. She traveled all throughout the state gathering friends and family in all the things she did. She touched so many others with her bold love and friendship. She laughed, she loved and brought joy in every way. She carried herself with grace, compassion and beauty. And in 2017 she once again traveled across the states back to Arizona ( Phoenix ) again. She never complained about all the moving and was happy to do it. She was a beautiful delicate soul that wanted to share her love and light with everyone and everything.
LaToshia had an extraordinary love for animals. She loved them all, big or small. LaToshia was A Daughter, A Grand Daughter, A Sister, An Aunt and A Girlfriend. There was always a family dinner, birthday, holiday, or accomplishment to celebrate, and LaToshia was the perfect addition to the beautiful chaos. Although she had no children of her own she did have her beloved cats (Sammy and Kushy) they were more than pets they were family. She rescued and adored them with her entire heart and caring for them brought her immense joy. Anyone who knew LaToshia knew how deeply devoted she was to (Sammy and Kushy) and how much they meant to her.
One of her favorite traditions was attending Renaissance Festivals with her boyfriend ( OJ ); he fondly remembers those adventures with the love of his life ( LaToshia ). Together they explored every shop, admired trinkets and books, and enjoyed meals fit for medieval royalty. OJ often said that her smile alone filled his heart with pure love that day, a smile that all of us will remember forever.
LaToshia is survived by her mother ( Susan ), her sister ( Sheena ), her brother ( Anthony ) and her boyfriend, the love of her life (OJ). There are countless loving family members and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
She was a deeply cherished family member to us all. While our hearts are broken by her loss, we find comfort in knowing that her love, light, and legacy will never fade. Though she is no longer with us in person, she will remain forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the ASPCA or to a local animal shelter of your choice in LaToshia’s memory. Her love for animals knew no bounds, and supporting animals in need would be a meaningful way to honor her
