We honor the life and lasting legacy of Laura Riebau, a long-time, deeply dedicated resident of San Diego who passed away on May 7, 2026.

Raised in a military family, Laura developed a signature resilience and strength of spirit that she brought to San Diego—the city she truly loved. There, she became an invaluable pillar of our local community. Known for her tireless advocacy and leadership, she served for many years with distinction as the Chairperson and an active member of the Eastern Area Communities Planning Committee (EACPC) and represented the neighborhood on the Community Planners Committee.

Whether she was aggressively championing the development of much-needed public neighborhood parks, ensuring thoughtful community zoning, or working closely with city officials to improve local safety and infrastructure, Laura's voice was always one of passion, clarity, and steadfast dedication to her neighbors. Her impact on the growth and character of the local area will be felt for generations to come.

Laura is deeply missed and survived by her loving family: her mother, Leone; her sister, Rochelle; her three brothers, Larry, Jon, and Jeff.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and the entire community she worked so hard to build and protect. Rest in peace, Laura.
