Lawrence C. LeGrande, 86, of Torrance, California, passed away on November 25, 2025, at Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, California. Born on April 14, 1939, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Larry lived an accomplished and fulfilled life marked by dedication, adventure, and generosity.
Larry devoted his professional life to his career as a Certified Public Accountant. In his younger years, he attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where he spent four formative years. He began his career in New York City before eventually settling in California, where he made his home for the remainder of his life.
Larry had a deep love for the ocean and embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. He was known for his kindness, humor, generosity, and sharp intellect. Outside of his professional work, Larry enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, listening to opera, and playing the piano. He had an adventurous spirit and a gift for storytelling that captivated all who knew him.
Larry is survived by his niece, Kendra Jefferies of Ewing, Illinois, and his two godchildren, Ashleigh Cline and Timmy Arnold, both of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence P. LeGrande; his mother, Ruth E. (Wagner) LeGrande; and his sister, Ruth C. Jefferies.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Larry had a heart of gold unmatched by any other. He, along with the wondrous stories he shared, will be missed tremendously by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
