Leslee Ellen Spencer passed away on July 4, 2026, in Thousand Palms, California, after a battle with cancer. She was born on March 11, 1950, in Chatsworth, California.

Leslee dedicated more than 15 years to serving as a substitute school teacher and later spent two years at College of the Desert, where she worked in Instructional Support for the college's Nursing program. She was passionate about helping students of all ages and took great pride in encouraging them and helping them find direction in life.

Outside of her career, Leslee loved reading and music. She also had a deep love for animals, especially cats, and spent much of her time rescuing cats and helping them find loving homes.

Leslee was known as a quiet, generous person with a heart of gold. She always found a way to give more than she received and was thoughtful, caring, and willing to help others whenever she could.

She would like to be remembered as someone who was grounded in life, understood what truly mattered, and always went the extra mile with a generous smile for both people and animals alike.

Leslee is survived by her cousin, Jeff Hayden; her lifelong friend, Diana Henry and daughter Heidi; her friends and former colleagues, Mark Rizzo and Angela Ross; and her loving friends and neighbors, Carmina and Vanessa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Spencer, and her mother, Elizabeth Watkins-Spencer.
