During the 1990s, Leticia owned and operated her own beauty salon, where she shared her creativity, expertise, and dedication with her community. Her success as a business owner reflected her strong work ethic and her desire to help others look and feel their best. Building upon her experience as an entrepreneur, Leticia devoted the next chapter of her life to education and vocational training. She transformed lives one client at a time from behind the salon chair, and later shaped futures one student at a time from the classroom.
Throughout her distinguished career, she taught Cosmetology and Barbering at several private and higher education institutions in Laredo and Houston, Texas. She was a mentor, instructor, and role model to countless students. Respected for her skill, professionalism, and passion for teaching, she took great pride in helping others achieve their goals. The seeds she planted throughout her career continued to grow as many of her students went on to establish successful beauty salons, barber shops, cosmetology schools, and barbering schools of their own.
Beyond her professional achievements, Leticia was known for her compassionate heart and willingness to help those in need. Alongside her husband, she devoted time to assisting members of the homeless community, offering food, shelter, guidance, and friendship. She believed in treating everyone with love and respect, never judging others and always striving to lend a helping hand.
Leticia will be remembered for her generosity, vibrant personality, and her gift for turning strangers into friends. She had a way of opening doors, not just to her home, but to her heart, making people feel welcome, valued, and loved. Her warmth, wisdom, and encouragement touched countless lives and created lasting memories.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through her family, her students, her friends, and all those whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
Funeral and interment arrangements will be held privately.
