Lewis Lee Ross was born on April 7, 1958, in San Fernando, California, and passed away on January 2, 2026, in Long Beach, California.

Music was the rhythm of Lewis's “ or Lee as we all knew him" life from the very beginning. A lifelong musician, he started playing as a child in his family’s band, where harmony wasn’t just something you played — it was something you lived. He carried that love of music with him always and passed his talent, passion, and creative spirit down to his children. For Lee music wasn’t just a hobby; it was how he connected, how he expressed himself, and how he loved.

He was a devoted Dodgers and Lakers fan, never shy about sharing his opinions on a game, a player, or a season. Sports, like music, gave him something to debate, celebrate, and bond over. If you ever sat next to him at a bar or family gathering, you likely found yourself in a lively conversation about sports, a song, or the people he loved most.

When his children were young, Lee was known as the neighborhood dad. He welcomed their friends with open arms, always ready with advice, a “dad talk,” or a safe couch to land on. He loved those kids like his own, and many of them will always remember him as a steady presence in their lives.

Lee was outspoken and unapologetically honest. You never had to wonder what he was thinking — he would tell you. Sometimes blunt, always real, he lived truthfully and wore his heart where everyone could see it. With Lee, what you saw was what you got.

He was most proud of his daughter, Jennifer Ross, his son, Dustin Ross, and in his later years, his grandson, Stellar Ross. His love for them was deep and constant.

Lee would want to be remembered the way you recall a great song— a comforting melody in the back of your mind when you need it the most.

His greatest wish would be for the music he created, and the music he inspired in his children and grandson, to continue playing long after him.

He is survived by his daughter and sonJennifer  and Dustin Ross, and his grandson Stellar Ross.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Yevonne “Terry” Ross, and his father, Lewis Ross.

A wake will be held at Gaucho Beach in Long Beach, California, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. This will be an informal gathering in honor of Lee. In tribute to his passion for his teams, guests are encouraged to wear Dodgers or Lakers apparel — he would have loved that.
