Liam passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2026, at the age of 38. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, and a wonderfully unique presence in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Liam grew up in Gonzales, Louisiana, where his family knew early on that he would always follow a path distinctly his own. He later served in the United States Army, graduated from ITT Technical Institute, and eventually made his home in Seattle, Washington.
Liam was funny, creative, curious, mischievous, and kind. He had an incredible sense of comedic timing and took particular pleasure in making other people laugh. There was often a little chaos involved—usually intentional—but underneath the jokes and playfulness was someone with a genuinely good heart.
He was also generous with something increasingly precious: his time. Liam listened. He encouraged people. He showed up. He had a way of making people feel seen and welcomed without ever making a big production of doing so.
In recent years, Liam found another place where those qualities could flourish. Online, he became known as Rokkuhato, or simply “Rokku”—a blue reindeer with silver antlers, a wonderfully offbeat sense of humor, and an ever-growing circle of friends.
Through streaming, gaming, VRChat, and the community surrounding them, Liam created something that became much more than entertainment. He created a place built around humor, positivity, play, and belonging. He encouraged other creators, dreamed up silly collaborations and adventures, and brought people along with him for what one friend beautifully described as “an endless ride of the unexpected.”
Only after Liam’s passing has his family begun to fully understand how many people he reached and what he meant to them. Friends have shared stories of his generosity, his encouragement, his wonderfully ridiculous jokes, and his willingness to give his time to others even after long days of his own. They describe someone who helped people find confidence, encouraged them to create, and made room for them to simply be themselves.
Perhaps one of Liam’s most beautiful legacies is that he didn’t simply make friends.
He helped people find one another.
Friendships were formed because of him. People who might never otherwise have met became part of a community because Liam brought them together. That community, and the friendships that continue within it, are part of what he leaves behind.
Long before there was Rokku, however, there was Liam—the son, brother, uncle, and friend his family knew and loved for 38 years. A lifetime with him brought all the things that make a family a family: shared memories, inside jokes, adventures, disagreements, laughter, traditions, and stories that belong only to the people who lived them together.
Liam is survived by his mother, Claudia Richard; his father, Rod Richard; his brother and sister-in-law, Ryan and Trish Gaudin; his sister and brother-in-law, Lindsey and Eric Paul Fauveau; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Eufemia, Maximo, Elise, and Jackie.
He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and members of his online community whose lives he touched.
There is profound sadness in losing Liam far too soon. But there is also comfort in discovering just how much of himself he left behind—in his family, in his friendships, in the laughter he created, in the people he encouraged, and in a community that continues because he once brought them together.
