With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lynda D. Toliver on August 24, 2026. Born in Dallas, Texas, Lynda passed away at Woodway Nursing & Rehabilitation in Houston, Texas.

Lynda lived life with warmth, humor, and an infectious spirit that brought joy to those around her. Fun-loving, lively, and always ready with a smile, she had a way of making everyone feel like family. She never met a stranger, and her kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She found happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially listening to music, watching I Love Lucy, and enjoying home-cooked meals. Lynda treasured her family above all else. She adored her nieces and nephews, never missing a birthday or the chance to surprise them with Easter baskets each year. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she will forever be remembered for the love she gave so freely.

Lynda lived life to its fullest. Her love, laughter, and unwavering care for those around her defined who she was. She will be remembered as a woman whose joyful spirit, caring heart, and thoughtful check-in calls made others feel seen, valued, and loved.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Barry Champ; her sisters, Regina Ogboenyiya and Jackie Hopkins; her brothers, Charles Crittendon and Darren Crittendon; her nieces, Sabrina Green, Tammy Boston, Shawn Boston (Boo), Lisa Boston, Crystal McDowell, Ebony Ogboenyiya, and Deenisha Crittendon; her nephews, Anthony Hopkins Jr., Jeremy Hopkins, and Josh Ogboenyiya; as well as a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her father, Odelle Thomas; her mother, Beulah Crittendon; her aunt, Ophelia Hill; her sisters, Margaret Jean Boston and Denise; and her brothers, Willie Crittendon and Donnie Walton.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of Lynda's life will take place at a later date.

As we mourn Lynda's passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the love she shared so generously. Though she is no longer with us in person, her kindness, laughter, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
