Lynn B. Alton, son of Robert Alton and Winifred Dahn Alton, was born April 25, 1936, in Spokane, Washington, and passed away on March 31, 2026, at the age of 89.

The second of four children, Lynn was preceded in death by his older brother, Craig. He is survived by his younger sister, Norma Catherine, and his brother, Dahn Alton.

Lynn proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1953 to 1961. During those younger years, he became a private pilot. A true Westerner with an adventurous spirit, he lived in several places across the West, including Anchorage, Alaska; Walnut Creek, California; and Lake Tahoe, California. In 1982, he made the Seattle area his home, where he resided for the remainder of his life.

He began his professional career as a salesman for Major Sports Associates, an event marketing company that offered admission into a wide variety of sports, community, and arts events. His work took him to major cities across the country. Later in Alaska, he provided executive leadership for the Homebuilders Association in Anchorage and owned a commercial halibut fishing boat.

He will be remembered for his independent spirit, his love of travel, and the many stories he shared from the road.

Lynn is survived by his three sons — Stan Alton, Jeff Alton, and Eric Alton — his sister Norma Catherine, his brother Dahn Alton, and his eight grandchildren: Rachel Alton, Courtney Alton, Zach Alton, Madison Alton, Lauren Alton, Royce Alton, Mason Alton, and Norah Alton.

A private memorial service will be held by the family.
