Obituary

Maria del Pilar Arvizu Gasso Carreon was born on November 15, 1952, in Mexico City and passed away on April 6, 2026, in Whittier, California, due to sepsis.

Maria worked as a Health Care Supervisor and was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. 

She enjoyed watching movies, reading the Bible, and singing. Maria was a chatty social butterfly who connected easily with others. She was selfless, dependable, loving, and kind.

One of her proudest accomplishments was starting a family. She loved her two sons immensely and cherished the time she spent with them and her extended family.

She would want to be remembered as a hard worker and as a loving and caring mother and sister.

She is survived by her sons, Jesse Manuel Carreon and Jacob Carreon, as well as several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Gasso; her mother, Esperanza Arvizu; and her husband, Jesse Carreon.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Yorba Linda Community Center, 4501 Casa Loma Avenue, Yorba Linda, California 92886, in the Imperial Room.
