Maria Dolores Pedraza Montalvo, aged 91, of Dallas, Texas, peacefully passed away on September 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of the massive family she built.

Born on March 8, 1935, in Hualahuises, Nuevo León, Mexico, Maria came to the United States with a fierce determination and a heart full of hope. Leaving her homeland behind, she made the courageous journey to America with her husband Juan for one enduring reason: to give her children the opportunities and future they deserved. Through decades of hard work and unyielding grace, she truly made that happen.

For over 30 years, Maria served her community with pride as a Dallas school crossing guard, protecting generations of neighborhood children with the same watchful care she gave her own family. She was a woman of infinite energy and passion; she traveled the world to experience new cultures yet always found peace and happiness at home tending to her plants, cooking for her family and enjoying the life she built with them all.

Maria was the true matriarch of the Montalvo family. Her home was the epicenter of love, tradition, and guidance for multiple generations. Her greatest victory in life was watching her family flourish from the sacrifices she so willingly made.

She is survived by her nine devoted children, their spouses and a vast legacy of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom carry her strength and spirit forward.

Maria was reunited in heaven with her late husband Juan, her cherished grandson Juan Vicente (Juany), great grandsons Nathaniel & Waylon, her sisters, brother, and many of her dear friends.

Our family finds comfort knowing she will always be with them in spirit and in their cherished memories.

Mom will be deeply missed by her entire family.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday October 24, 2026, 1pm - Salvation Army Church- 451 W. Avenue D. Garland, TX 75040
