Mary Hodges, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, was born on July 5, 1964, in Fort Benning, Georgia. She passed away on October 16, 2026, in Tomball, Texas, at the age of 62, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.

Mary was truly one of a kind. A social butterfly with the gift of conversation, she never met a stranger. Whether she had known someone for years or had only just crossed their path, Mary had a way of striking up a conversation and making herself right at home. She loved to talk, share stories, and connect with people. Her outgoing personality was simply part of who she was, and those who knew her will undoubtedly remember the many conversations, laughter, and moments shared along the way.

But perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of Mary's heart was her unwavering love for animals. She had a special place in her soul for dogs, particularly those who needed someone to love them when the world had seemingly forgotten them. Throughout her life, Mary opened her heart to countless pups, offering them the kindness, comfort, and compassion they deserved. To her, they were never just animals; they were family. Each one held a special place in her heart, and she carried the memory of those she lost with her throughout the years.

Mary's love for animals was a reflection of the compassion that lived within her. She understood that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness could make the greatest difference, especially to those without a voice of their own. The many paws that crossed her path were blessed to have known her love.

Above all, Mary leaves behind the family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Odell; her cherished granddaughter, Braelynn Castillo; and her sons, Travis Odell and Robert Odell Jr.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Mayo; her stepfather, Lewis Mayo; her father, Clarence Hodges; and her stepbrother, Lewis E Mayo III. She was also preceded in death by the many beloved four-legged companions who crossed the Rainbow Bridge before her.

While saying goodbye is never easy, there is comfort in imagining Mary being welcomed by the wagging tails, happy barks, and unconditional love of every precious pup who had been waiting for her on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. Surely, it was a reunion filled with more love than words could ever describe.

Mary's life was not measured simply by the years she lived, but by the conversations she shared, the memories she created, the people she touched, and the animals she loved. Her voice may now be silent, but the stories, laughter, and love she leaves behind will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew her.

Though she is no longer here to share another story, strike up another conversation, or welcome another pup into her arms, the love she gave remains. It lives on in her children, her granddaughter, and every life, both two-legged and four-legged, that was made a little brighter because of her.

Rest peacefully, Mary. May you be surrounded by endless love, familiar faces, and all the wagging tails waiting to welcome you home.
