Mary Chrystine "Chrys" Cockrill passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, in Seal Beach, California, of natural causes. She was born on December 15, 1942, in Ely, Nevada.

Chrys built a career in healthcare administration, but her greatest life's work was caring for the people she loved. She devoted herself to her family with unwavering love, compassion, and selflessness.

She found joy in the beauty of nature and especially loved the ocean. Beaches, lighthouses, seabirds, and everything that lived beneath the waves brought her peace. Some of her favorite places were Ragged Point in Big Sur and Crystal Cove State Beach in Newport. She also loved gardening, and plants always seemed to flourish under her care. Her love extended to animals as well, and she gave many cats and dogs happy, loving homes throughout her life.

Chrys was a kind, gentle, caring, and wise person who never wished harm on anyone or anything. She was easy to talk to and had a way of making people feel loved and understood. She had a nurturing spirit that naturally drew others to her, especially her children, whom she raised with endless patience, warmth, and love.

Her proudest accomplishment was raising her three children on her own. She dedicated herself to providing them with a happy and loving home while teaching them strong moral values through both her words and her example. She sacrificed much of her personal life to ensure her children had every opportunity to succeed. While raising them, she attended night classes to earn her high school diploma so she could improve her career opportunities and better provide for her family. Later in life, she lovingly cared for her own mother until the end of her mother's life.

To her family, Chrys was much more than a mother. She was home. She was the one who welcomed everyone with love, filled the house with wonderful meals, made Halloween exciting and Christmas magical, cheered on her daughters at Hawaiian dance performances, and proudly served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. Her love extended not only to her children but also to every pet that became part of the family.

Her family takes comfort in believing that she is now at peace, held in the loving arms of the Lord. Though her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, her love, kindness, and the lessons she shared will remain with those who knew her.

Chrys is survived by her daughters, Stacy Cockrill and Kelli Cockrill, and her son, Mike Cockrill.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held. Her ashes will be scattered in the places she loved most by those who loved her.

Her family prays that they will be reunited with their beloved mother again in the next life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
