Matthew Charles Holten, age 72, passed away on January 31, 2026 in Carrollton, Texas. Matt was born in Odessa, Tx on August 31, 1953. His family moved to Big Spring, Tx and Matt attended elementary schools in Big Spring, Elbow and Forsan and he graduated from Big Spring High School in 1971.
Matt attended North Texas State University and graduated with degrees in Music (percussion) and Art and he had a career as an artist and as a drummer.
Matt was preceded in death by his father Joseph T. Holten and mother Joann C. Holten and his wife Suzan Holten and daughter Hillary Holten, his brother William Holten, and sister Mary C. Wright.
He is survived by his brother Michael Holten (Donna), sister Cathy Helms (Jimmy), sister Lucy Lee and Teresa Holten and brother Jerry Holten (Dianna).
Meadow Memorials is in charge of arrangements and in lieu of flowers donations can be made in Matt's name to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Carrollton, Texas 75007
