Michael Acton Lind
Obituary

Born in Bethlehem, PA in 1945, Mike Lind grew up in California and often sat, in alphabetical order, next to Sharon McHugh in class at Los Altos High School. They both attended UC Berkeley and were married in 1968, moving to Iowa to pursue advanced degrees. 

Mike earned his Doctorate in Physics from Iowa State and he and Sharon had one daughter, Stacey, in 1974. Mike's wide-ranging career as a scientist and business management consultant encompassed physical sciences, complex analytics, and start-up coaching, as well as medical, energy, environmental, optical, and electronic devices. 

Mike died on May 7, 2026, just shy of his 81st birthday. 

He leaves behind his daughter, Stacey Lind and his two sisters Christine Ricketts and Connie Lind. 

In lieu of remembrances, donations in his honor may be made to Seattle Children’s Hospital or the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
