Michael Antony Paul DiFilippo, 59, of Van Nuys, California, suddenly passed away there in the city he called home. Born in Los Angeles, he will be remembered for his tender and generous heart, his mischievous sparkle, and his deep compassion for others.
Michael was quick to comfort those around him, even when facing his own challenges. He loved laughing, cooking, wrestling, and watching his favorite Bruce Lee and John Wayne films.
To his family, Michael was more than a brother and son—he was a source of warmth, humor, and unwavering love. As his sister shared, “He was one of my biggest cheerleaders in life, and I feel so grateful to have had him not only as a brother but as a beautiful human being.”
Michael is survived by his mother, Donnetta Webster, whose love grounded him throughout his life, and by his siblings Tammy Hartmann (Craig), Lori Russo Ocampo (Ricardo), Denise Shaw, Patrick Taylor (Julie), and Abby Webster, who will forever treasure his humor and kindness. He also cherished the connection of his extended family, including his late great-aunt Eunice Cooley Russo and cousin Cheryl Harmon (Wayne), both of whom held special places in his heart.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. A private cremation will be held, and an online guestbook will be available through the funeral home for those wishing to share memories or condolences.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Michael’s memory to a local food bank, an organization that reflects his generous and caring spirit. Donations may be made to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank at Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
