Michael Edmond Drinkard passed away on July 30, 2026.

Michael loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed making memories with the people he cared about. He was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved listening to R&B and hip-hop music. Whether he was relaxing with loved ones or enjoying a good conversation, Michael valued the time he spent with others.

He was known for being stubborn like his father, but also incredibly loving and compassionate. Michael had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life, always ready to laugh, joke around, and make others smile. He had a laid-back, easygoing personality and was always willing to listen, offer advice, or simply be there for someone in need. He was generous with whatever he had and encouraged those around him to keep moving forward.

Michael dreamed of having children and starting a family of his own. He also took great pride in organizing his family's yearly reunion, finding new locations for everyone to gather, and making sure to stay in touch with relatives, especially those he had not heard from in a while. Family meant everything to him.

Michael would want to be remembered for the love, kindness, and good times he shared with others. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. His caring nature and genuine friendship touched many lives.

He is survived by his mother, Janet Baker (Waymon); his stepmother, Janine Drinkard; his aunts: Yvonne, Mary, and Cecilia; his uncle, Roland (Karen); his brother, Betrayn and sister-in-law, Ardelphia; his sisters: Miyosha, Tamica, and Kristen; his brother, Kisasi and sister-in-law, Tricia; his stepsisters: Anika, Maisha and brother-in-law, Calvin, Sheri, and Jacqueline; his nieces: Corrine, Shawndeeia, Aaliyah, Alani, Journey, Malyssia, Kisani (Deron), and Amiya; his nephews: Calvin,  Kahlil, Dj, and Branden; his cousins: ChaLee, Qiana (Brent), Daniel (Asha), Nicole, Bryan, Kenny, Charlene (Darrell), Cherrelle, and Shawnte; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edmond Drinkard Jr.; his grandparents, Edmond Drinkard Sr. and Evelyn Drinkard; and his uncle, Marcel Drinkard.

A memorial service will be held on August 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Los Angeles Community Christian Church, 10611 S. Hoover St., Los Angeles, CA 90044.

Michael's kindness, laughter, and love for his family and friends will always be remembered.
